DVAL MEMBERSHIP:

DVAL Membership applications are available online and at all general meetings.

DVAL membership is open to persons 18 years of age and older. All members are eligible to attend meetings, workshops, hold office, serve on committees and vote.  New members may join at any time and will be able to participate in the current calendar year. If a new member joins in November or December of a calendar year their membership will be effective for the remainder of the current year as well as the entire following year.

 

DVAL is a volunteer run organization. All members are asked to serve in some capacity.

 

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS:

There are two possible membership categories:  Associate and Full.  All new members are designated Associate members (A). To become a Full member an artist must successfully pass the DVAL Internal Review process (to learn more about the Internal Review process visit “Internal Review Jurying”). Full Members (F) are eligible to submit work to both juried and non-juried shows. Full members are also invited to link their professional website to the DVAL web page under “Member Gallery”.

 

MEMBERSHIP FEES:

Memberships are paid by the calendar year and and expire on December 31 of each year. There is a $25 Joiner Fee and a $40 dues charge for a first-year membership.

Membership fees may be paid online or in person with cash, check, credit or debit card, or PayPal account.

Renewal membership payments are due by January 1 (in advance for the upcoming year). Dues are $40 for returning members ($20 for Board Members) if paid in advance by January 1. Returning members who pay dues after the due date incur a late fee of $10.  Due to the holiday season, we allow a grace period for dues payment until January 31.  Hereafter, dues for returning members are $50 for the current year.

If dues are not paid a member is removed from our active member list, but may rejoin at any time. To be reinstated after an absence of 5 years or more, a former member must reapply as a new (Associate) Member, regardless of their former status, and must successfully pass the DVAL Internal Review Process to become a full member

 

As stated in our Policies & Procedures: Joiner/Membership fees are not refundable.

 

WELCOMING COMMITTEE:

This is a program designed to ensure that new members feel welcome and made aware of all DVAL has to offer. Each new member will have the opportunity to be paired with a current member who will introduce them to other members and answer any questions they may have concerning DVAL Policies and Procedures or about all other activities offered. New members will be contacted by the Welcoming Committee Coordinator.

 

MEMBERSHIP GROWTH INCENTIVE:

Any member who brings in a new paid member will get a $5 DVAL coupon redeemable for workshops, entry fees, membership dues, etc. Good for the year of issue, coupons will be available at all general meetings.
