1. Exhibitors must submit original works for all shows. Copies, prints or any type reproductions will be rejected by the Chairperson of the Group Exhibitions Committee. Any work juried and exhibited  in a DVAL show  but not sold may be entered later for jurying in another  DVAL show as long as it is not for the same venue ( such as another Penn Med Show) and if accepted, hung. No work may be submitted for jurying for the same venue where it has previously been shown

       2 .All work for DVAL sponsored shows will be pre-juried by an outside professional juror which will be pre-determined by the “Juror Committee”, Gallery Director or person responsible for the venue where the exhibition will take place. In the case of DVAL exhibitions only the Exhibitions Committee is permitted to be present to assist and advise the number of pieces the juror is to select.

All work to be juried  must have an entry label attached to the back ( at the top left corner when viewed from the back) and be delivered between 10AM and 1PM at which time the doors are closed and no more work accepted or interruptions permitted.

Jurying will be done in a secure place during the general meeting and artist presentation and may run longer than the meeting. When jurying is complete the membership will be notified to pick up their work and at that time advised if work is accepted.

        3. If a painting is juried into a show and is not delivered or hung in that show the artist will be banned from exhibiting in any two nonselective DVAL sponsored shows.

If an artist brings a painting to a DVAL show that deviates from the one juried in, it will be rejected at delivery by the Chairperson of the “Group Exhibitions” Committee

       4. In all but DVAL Penn Med shows every painting must have a price. No painting can be listed as N.F.S or can any painting be removed or substituted before the end of the exhibition  In the case of juried DVAL Penn Med shows a sold painting may be replaced with a non-juried painting and must be marked “Non-Juried Replacement”.

        5. Each qualified “Artist” member is permitted to submit one (1) piece of work to be juried unless
otherwise notified. The fee is $10 (Board Members $5) If members are permitted to submit more than one piece of work, an additional fee may be charged for each piece submitted.  

       6. The prize for first place in DVAL juried shows is $ 150. Ribbon awards will be given to second and third place winners. In specified Penn Med shows there can be one or more “Purchase prizes of $350. Winners photographs will be taken at the show hanging delivery and artist may dress accordingly if they wish. This photography is for the web-site, PR for the artist and the group or organization showing the work. (With out people in the photos are less likely to make the news.)

         7. Up to five Ribbon Awards may be given for Honorable Mention

                                                  RESPONSIBILITY OF DVAL
All art works in DVAL Exhibits will be carefully handled, however DVAL will not be
responsible for damage except that which occurs during the process of hanging DVAL
shows. Damage payments not to exceed $150.     

                                        PROCEEDURE FOR GROUP EXHIBITIONS

          1. Penn Med delivery hours are 9:30 to 10:30A.M. on date specified. All paintings must
             be properly labeled with a DVAL entry label attached to the back at the top left corner,
             when viewed from the back. prior to delivery. (these labels will be sent with Annual
             Directory and are available on our web site) Entry fee must be paid at this time.

        2. All work must be signed for when delivering or pick-up after the show with Chairperson
            or designated worker. Any exceptions must be cleared with “Group Exhibitions
            Chairperson”.
 
         3. If an artist is unable to pick up their work at the specified times they are responsible for
            arranging a substitute (other than the Exhibition Chairperson). A fine of $20 will be charged to  artists not picking up their work within specified times. In addition there will be a penalty of not being allowed to enter any worksfor the next DVAL sponsored show. Further there will be no reimbursement for damage for loss of those wor which are not picked up

        4...Prior to jurying or hanging paintings will be rejected if they are not properly framed.
Including wire strong enough support work and allow hanging. If screw eyes are used they must be padded with heavy tape to prevent injury to other paintings. Oil paintings must be dry and either framed or have neat, paintedsides. Other reasons for rejection are unsightly mats or damaged frames. The Chairperson of the “Group Exhibitions Committee” is the only person who may reject a painting (with the advice of members of that committee who may recommend this action.) If possible the artist may be given the opportunity to make repairs if done within the specified delivery time.

        5. If the weather is such that it is questionable or not possible to deliver or pick-up paintings
            exhibitors will be notified by a phone chain list, announcement on KYW 1060 or on our
            web site Delawarevalleyartleague.com  

       6. In Penn Med Shows if a painting is sold the “Group Exhibitions Committee” must be
notified, particularly if a replacement is to be made. This replacement or removal must be made at specified times on specific days (Tuesday and Thursday only) with Penn Med Security.  All arrangements of Penn Med sales and delivery to purchaser must be made by the artist.
In the case of other shows the artist can ask for a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the price of a painting is required to reserve it until the show is over. The painting will then be marked sold. This negotiation as well as the completion of the transaction and delivery is the responsibility of the artist.
